Microlight Regulations in Zimbabwe
The regulatory body here is the Zimbabwe Microlight Aircraft
Association. The ZMAA is self regulating but liases with the Director Of
Civil Aviation. At present all operators of Microlights/ Ultralites are
required to be members. The licencing requires us to hold a Radio
Operators Licence, this is a standard test here and apllies to all types
of pilots licence, we also have t have an annual medical, and we are
required to be checked out by an authorised instructor from the
association. All pretty basic.
We are not allowed to fly above 1000' agl or 6000' asl which ever is the
higher unless we have FIC approval, which is seldom denied.
